I get asked questions all the time from people who want to learn French. It can be a scary thing to take that first step and learn a whole new language. After all, you have been speaking the same language since birth. Well, I’m here to tell you that learning French is a lot of fun and you CAN do it! I want you to know that you can always get your French questions answered here.
In the meantime, here are some frequently asked questions and their answers:
Q: How Do I Get Started?
A: You need to find a tutor or program that will include everything you need to succeed with the French Language. That means starting from the very basics and learning general information. Once you know the basics you will gain the confidence you need to keep on going!
Q: How Can I Make Sure the Lessons I Learn Stick?
It’s all well and good to try and learn from a book or tape, but you need to make sure the information you learn will become relevant to your life and that you’ll remember it. The best way to do this is with an all-inclusive program. Immersing yourself in the language is the best way. If you can’t start living in France or another French speaking country then do the next best thing! Find a program that has audio, visual, and interactive components. Speak French at every opportunity.
Q: How Do I Get That Accent Down Pat?
A: It’s impossible to get the accent right unless you hear it spoken. So, at every opportunity listen to natural born French speakers through audio or video. It can take some practice and you might never lose your “accent” but you will understand how the words should be pronounced.
