Many people think that the best way to learn French is to go to Paris (or any other town in France) during summer vacations.
Personaly, I don’t think that moving in the country is an indispensable “to do” to learn a language, however it can only help you. The most important thing when you travel is that you will understand the culture, and this is really important.
If you want to go to Paris, go for it, I am sure you will enjoy, however you must take these in consideration:
- Are you moving alone, or in family?
- If you have a family, are teens going to learn?
- How long you will stay there?
- What is your learning budget?
- What you will learn? Basic French phrases, grammar, common travel sentences?
- What is the duration of the course?
- Do you have feedbacks on the courses? Did you chat with students who went there before you?
Although learning French during summer can be quite short in length, you can really learn a lot if you did your homewrk before you go there.
Finally, I think that one of the nicest places to take an immersion course is Paris.
I am a “Parigo” (name given to people who live in Paris), so my opinion may be biased!
